It has been a very merry, exciting, and busy Christmas and New Year for our family. For Xmas we went to visit my parents and family in Kanab Utah and we both had a great time sledding with all the kids, eating good food, and playing tons of fun games! It was a great week and spending time with family is the best! For New Year's Eve Eric and I went up to his parents in South Weber and had a fun cozy time with his parents eating good food and playing fun games. On New Years day we spent the better part of it at his sister Natasha's brand new apartment. It was beautiful and so impressive it was so cool to see that her husband, Jake, and his father put the whole apartment together basically by themselves.

Other than family time Eric and I have been able to ski a couple times so far and plan on doing it a lot more in January, February and March. Woo Hoo! I am also proud to report that I got straight A's in all my classes this semester so that always feels good.

Most exciting for me is probably that I had the opportunity to get ILasik this past Friday January 2nd. The surgery was very intense, emotional, and scary, but quick. I posted the videos of it if you would like to view them. They are pretty creepy but pretty cool. The great thing about Lasik is the recovery is so easy and amazing! All I had to do was go sleep for a few hours after put in a million eye drops, sleep with my skiing googles and for three nights and have some mild discomfort. It is amazing though I can see and I don't need glasses or contacts! I keep thinking I need to go put my glasses on or take out my contacts but then I remember I can see almost perfectly already and those days of four eyes are over! It really is pretty great. Eric recorded the surgery in 12 segments so if you want to watch it then start with Lasik 1 and work your way to number 12 to see it in the best order. If you have questions post comments and I will try to answer the best I can. Enjoy!

Eric and I are looking forward to a great New Year and welcome 2009 with open arms!

Me first! Me first! What a cool blog Camille....I would so do Lasik if it could be done on my aged eyes, but sigh, it does not work for old muscles...but I need to go in for exam and will ask if they could do anything new to get rid of they crummy glasses....all the pics of the kids look fun and it is nice to see the lava rock on the wall...it will soon be history...glad you can see crisp and clean...skiing will be a revelation for sure. Love and hugs.

I am so proud of you for getting Lasik!!! I have horrible eyesight as well, and it's a dream of mine to wake up one day and not have to put my contacts in. However, I am too big of a chicken! And I'm a nurse! I don't even like having to put eye drops in my patient's eyes!
